On Saturday, Feb. 1, former Waverly High School standout James Schmidt’s current college team, the West Texas A&M Buffaloes, won 5-2 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the St. Edward's Hilltoppers.

The game took place at Lucian-Hamilton Field. This was their third matchup against the Hilltoppers this season.

The Buffaloes’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at Lucian-Hamilton Field against St. Edward's Hilltoppers.
