Six Women's Bowlers Named NAIA Scholar Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Women's Bowling Scholar-Athletes with a nearly 170 student-athletes recognized. This winter, the program recognizes women's bowlers from 46 institutions. Alaina Burris, Kaitlyn George, Danika Hickey, Rebekah Loker, Gabriella Hernandez and Kiara Backstrom represented Ottawa University as recepients of the award. 

Pikeville (Ky.) paces the nation with 10 recipients followed closely by St. Francis (Ill.) with nine. Baker (Kan.) and Spring Arbor (Mich.) have eight each; Madonna (Mich.) and SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) posted seven apiece.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
