The Braves had a slight 6-4 lead over Bethany with 6:33 to go in the first quarter. Ottawa then went cold from the floor, struggling to score in the final six minutes of the quarter while Bethany went on a 14-2 run to take an 18-10 lead into the second.

Ottawa played with more defensive energy in the second half. In the third quarter, OU held Bethany to 13 points and were within 55-40 at the start of the fourth.
