Johnson County sophomore Cole Stewart has been named D-I Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for August 29 – September 6. It is the 10th time in program history a player has been honored nationally, the sixth JCCC goalkeeper. Earlier this week Stewart has named the D-I Kansas Jayhawk Conference Goalkeeper of Week.
Making his first action of the season last week, Stewart saved nine of the 10 shots he faced last week to finish 1-1-0. He opened the week falling 1-0 to Coffeyville and capped the week with a 7-0 shutout over Southwestern Illinois.
Last season, Stewart earned All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference East Division second-team after finishing the season 5-4-1 with one shutout. He logged 820:00 minutes and posted a goals against average of 2.37 and a save percentage of .740, tallying 54 saves. He also earned NJCAA All-Academic third-team with a grade point average between 3.60-3.79.
