85 percent of applicants to Emporia State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Emporia State University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Emporia enrolled 5,796 students in fall 2018, including 3,569 in undergraduate and 2,227 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

91 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kansas, and 9 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (67 percent) and two or more races (10 percent).

The school admitted 85 percent of the 1,648 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 47 percent enrolled.
